Weekend Coffee Share: Fireworks, Getting Old, and Guys Wearing Pregnant Bellies

If we were having coffee today, it would be a change of pace. I am actually “off” today. No stunts, no flips, and no scheduling. So…instead of the normal quick Starbucks meetup at Hollywood Studios, I would invite you into my office at home. Have a seat, let’s talk!

There were definitely some fantastic highlights this week! First UP: Four months ago, I planned a date night for my wife and me. It finally arrived this week. We went to the Magic Kingdom and participated in the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party. Yes…we had to book four months out for this. Ridiculous, right? Anyway, it was a great experience. We were escorted to a reserved table at the Tomorrowland Terrace. The cast member toasted to our “vacation” with apple cider in a champagne flute. Then we were welcomed to a dessert buffet with character themed deserts. We watched the parade, the freaking awesome video projection on the castle, and the fireworks. Downside, even with the limited amount of people that they allow to participate, they still allow people to get up and stand to watch the fireworks. This ended with 40 people right in front of us. We were able to see most of the fireworks, but jeez…you think people would have a little more respect.

Second UP: Continuing with last week’s theme of meeting old friends. I had dinner with yet another old friend. We have been parted by the sea for the past couple of years while he was in Abu Dhabi. Along with my wife and another friend, we met up at a local Mexican restaurant. We spent almost two hours reminiscing and discussing his wedding plans with his fiancé. The reminiscing reminded me of how crazy we used to be and how old we are becoming. But you know what? I am completely fine with becoming old. I kinda like being boring…

Third UP: Yesterday, I continued my daddy edu-ma-cation. My wife and I took an all-day class at the hospital we are giving birth at. It was definitely an experience. But, like I have said before…I know nothing about being a Dad, so all information is HELPFUL! In the class, I was able to learn about the day of the birth (that includes watching a live birth…eek), how to swaddle a baby, how to put on a diaper, and what it feels like to be pregnant. Check the picture below…I think I got it down. What do you think? Highlight of the day: I put a diaper on the plastic baby, looked at my wife, and she said: “That was good!” Yes! Daddy level up achieved!

Well…that’s about it for now. I have lots of personal stuff to get done that has been biting at me for weeks. I have to get back to working on my hustle trip to New York, finish my blogging101 assignments, and meet up with my parents to discuss their will. Yeah, morbid, I know. I guess being prepared is better than not. Anyway…I’m outta here! Have a great Sunday!

  1. Cute picture…yet if you ask your wife, I’m sure she’ll tell you that you have no idea what it is really like to be pregnant…especially 8 or 9 months.

Enjoy your day off as much as you can with all the “stuff” you have to do. Have a super week!

    1. Thank you, Corina! And, you are absolutely right..I really have no idea what it is like to be pregnant…I’m not sure I can get through things like no caffeine, no lunch meat, the hormone changes…oh and the thousand other things that come with being pregnant. She is a rockstar and I couldn’t be luckier!

  2. “Yes! Daddy level up achieved!” My sister and brother in law are new parents to a baby boy since last year and to them, there really isn’t a comprehensive or complete enough guidebook to raising a whole new LIFE. Good luck and you look like you’re gonna be one cool dad 😉 Nice posting out of your stunt/gig life.

    1. Thank you! I have been hearing a lot about how no book is quite good enough. They say my instincts will kick in. In crossing my fingers! And… I hope my daughter thinks I’m a cool dad! 😀

  3. Haha! Love this! Nothing prepares you for the day your baby is set to arrive. I remember just kind of zoning out (not in a bad way) but I felt like I was in movie. Also four months down the line I can’t put a diaper on my son perfectly. Probably because unlike the doll, the little ones actually move the whole time!

    1. That is funny…I did hear someone mention in class that it is a whole lot harder when your baby is not a plastic doll…I just hope to have the diaper mastered before she is potty trained!
