Weekend Coffee Share: Indiana Jones show closing, old friends, and a freakin’ awesome wife!

Coffee this morning is brought to you straight from my home’s Keurig 2.0. Sorry I am not enough of a coffee snob to farm, grind, and brew my own! This will just have to do…

If I was lucky enough for you to come over for coffee, I would tell you that we only have time for two cups. As always, I have to head to work here soon. The theme park giants never sleep! Weekday, weekend, observed holidays, unobserved holidays…theme parks don’t discriminate.

This week has flown by and most of it was spent doing stunts at Disney. Although, a few notable things happened.

  1. An internet article popped up about our show (Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular) closing this year. The title (much like the one of this article) always makes us jump a little, but in the end, it is always a huge laugh for us at Disney. One of these articles pops up about once every three months and it has been happening for 26 years. One day, their predictions will be right, but for now, no such luck. Oh and a side note, I would be really perturbed if I found out that I was going to lose my job from an internet article! But no lie…I might still laugh. What’s life if you can’t shake it off, laugh, and move on?
  2. I had lunch with an old friend. We have drifted separate ways over the past 5 years, but due to his persistence, we were able to get together finally. This was no thanks to me at all though…I am terrible with the whole “work-life” balance thing. Anyway, it was great to catch up and to you, sir: I wish you the best of luck with your new endeavors, career, and city!
  3. Last night I was lucky enough to make it over to SeaWorld early enough to catch a wonderful 4th of July celebration with my wife. As always, she made things happen and got us two seats in a shoulder to shoulder packed stadium to watch the US Navy Band and fireworks. She is freakin’ awesome! Oh…and the fireworks went great. Thanks Shamu & SeaWorld!

So…that’s about it for this week, you know, minus the regular ol’ stuff. Oh…one more thing. I joined a blogging course for this month. It starts tomorrow. I hope for it to help my writing and get the creative juices flowing. Wish me luck!

OK, gotta go. Side Note: These posts are getting rather selfish. I promise I will hear what you have to say one day…Or, not. Haha.

  1. I saw the Stunt Spectacular article on my FB feed too. We plan to go back to WDW in a couple of years and hoped to see the show again. Glad to hear it’s only a rumour!

  2. It sounds like you had a great 4th! And I am glad that you recognize what a “freakin’ awesome” wife you have because not everyone does!

    1. Thank you, Corina! I have no trouble recognizing cool my wife is. 🙂 I hope you had a great 4th too! As for the baby, we are due in October, so it is getting close! We are finishing up the room and taking classes at the hospital. I’m getting very excited! …and a little nervous..

  3. Sounds like quite a week… How’s wife and baby doing?? Thought the little one was due a couple weeks ago (or maybe I’m remembering wrong – maybe it was that you only just announced the journey into fatherhood). Take Care. Be careful doing your stunts and have an awesome week.
