If we were having coffee this morning, it would happen super early. The past couple weekends it seems that I have been off my normal schedule. However, I am finally back doing what I always do on Saturdays: work! Thus, the early coffee. I would suggest we meet at the new Starbucks they installed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, because frankly, it is just easier for me.
As soon as we finish our coffee, I will have to head to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, where I will be in three film shoots today. Funny enough, they are all the same scene. After 26 years, we might get it right one of these times! Hehe… I truly love my job at Disney. Every day, I get to play on a giant playground and get paid for it. In addition, I get to make people happy, 2,000 at a time. It doesn’t get any better than this!
When we were good and deep into our conversation over coffee, I would stop you dramatically. I have some big news. I imagine it would go something like this: Eh em…*clears throat*…”My wife and I…well, we are having a baby!” [Insert HUGE smile here]. We are so very excited over this and can’t wait for this journey to begin!
This would lead me to telling you that after I finish playing on the giant adult playground today, I have to start my daddy duties, the real work. There is so much to be done and only 4 months left. Oh…and to top that off, just yesterday, one of our good friends had her baby 2 months early! This is an eye opening experience. I always knew something like this could happen, but now that I have seen the situation first hand…I realize we are 2 months from her same point and everything seems like it needs to be done super-fast!
Lastly, I would leave you with a funny story from yesterday. I woke up to a text message from a stunt coordinator I work with out of Miami. He was looking for Mexican gangsters for a TV show and needed pictures ASAP. So, at 6:00 AM in the morning I was dressing up like it was Halloween and taking selfies. Let me just tell you that a white guy with a due rag, hat, baggy pants, and white tank top does not really equal gangster! Regardless, who else gets to say they do that? And…who else can blame it on legitimate work? I really, really love what I do!
Anyway, time to run! Someone has to be available to be punched in the face soon… Thanks for your time. Let’s do this again next week?
the only way I’d look like a gangster was if I were dressed up like some guy from the Godfather Trilogy

Haha and the only way I would look like a mexican gangster is if….oh wait, that will never happen

I realized when i stopped by here before I forgot to say congratulations! That was about the gig being able to play all day for a living, of course. Oh, I guess I should say congratulations about the baby while I’m here 😉

What fun! I would most certainly meet you at SB in Hollywood Studios. I would want to hear more tales, and I can drink frapps at the drop of a coffee spoon.

Haha! I like what you did there! Maybe I will visit again from that SB next weekend!

If you do, send a long-distance wave to the north here in Michigan.
By the time I visit Disney next in 2018, I imagine there will be SB on every block. How would we ever find each other to meet up? 🙂

Haha… You are right about that… One in every park and 2 in downtown Disney so far!

What an amazing thing that you have such a wonderful and fun job. It’s not like that for everyone. And on the baby front, relax. That baby will need to be loved 24/7. They don’t need much more than that. Yeah, there are a lot of things that make life a lot more convenient with a baby but when it comes down to it, as long as you are ready to love that baby, you’re ready whenever it comes!

That is awesome advice and you are the first person to tell me that. I am definitely going to pass that on to my wife! Thank you very much Corina! 🙂

Congrats on the baby-to-be!
I was one of those who had my kiddo early, too—he was 7 weeks early and in the hospital for a while, and I was really unprepared for things. But I had great friends and family, and they were fantastic to us.

Thank you very much, Diana! It is definitely reassuring to hear that you felt unprepared and it turned out good! Those are things I really need to hear right now! 🙂

A big CONGRATs to you and wife 🙂 Let’s just say that having a child can be full of heart-stopping moments, more heart stopping than stunts. But full of times of immense joy.Trust me when I say you’ll laugh, cry, scream… welll just about everything imaginable, and then some. You’re in for quite a journey — A good one 🙂

Thank you very much, Tena! For a tough guy that does stunts for a living, I am pretty sure I am going to be a big sap! 🙂 I can’t wait for this journey!

You know, I think you could pass for anything you want. With enough make up, anyone can! : D
